Cultural and Sports Committee

Terms of Reference

  1. To coordinate, foster and promote cultural and sports activities within the University.
  2. To advise and make recommendations to the Vice-President (Student Affairs) on the resources required for planned cultural and sports activities of the University.

Constitution and Membership

Chairman Vice-President (Student Affairs)
Members Ex-Officio Member: Director (Student Development Services)
Maximum of 13 staff members appointed by the Chairman
1 full-time staff member appointed by the CityU Staff Association
2 student representatives nominated by the Students' Union
Secretary Administrative staff from the Student Development Services

(The term of office of the members shall be two years.)

Sub-Committee - CityU Singing Waves Gallery Advisory Board

Terms of Reference

  1. To advise and make recommendations to the Cultural and Sports Committee (the Committee) on the exhibition programmes of CityU Singing Waves Gallery, as to increase the artistic richness of the University
  2. To advise the Committee on matters relating to the development of CityU Singing Waves Gallery.
  3. To promote awareness and understanding of the importance of high-quality public art in the University.
  4. To develop and establish policies for the programme execution of the Committee: 
    a)  Establish process and criteria for the selection of programme; 
    b)  Identify opportunities for student engagement, education, and enjoyment of art appreciation.
  5. To report to the Committee on an annual basis on the progress of the arts activities.

Members Maximum of 8 members appointed by the Chairman
Secretary Staff member from Chinese Civilisation Centre

(The term of office of the members shall be two years.)
